  • K-Drama Collection List Upcoming

It’s been six years since “Scarlet Heart: Goryeo” has aired, and fans continue to be emotional over the ending of this series. There seemed to be no break when it came to the love between Hae Soo and Wang So. There was hope that the two would somehow find a way to be together, but the finale left viewers heartbroken. There have even been several petitions over the years from international fans, hoping that a second season could be made and that justice would be sought for the OTP. 1. “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” Starring Seo In Guk as Kim Moo Young and Jung So Min as Yoo Jin Kang, “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” is definitely different from any K-drama you’ll watch this year. Moo Young is a man with a lot of baggage who does not know the truth about what happened to his parents when he was a child. He meets and falls in love with Yoo Jin Kang, and although her initial impression of him is pretty negative, she comes to fall in love with him as well. “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” is a hidden gem that stole my heart. With Jin Kang and Moo Young’s unique and intriguing connection, the two find a way to be together despite all the odds that are stacked against them. Although Moo Young is difficult to love as a result of all the trauma he experienced throughout his life, the layers are uncovered as the series progresses, showing his true nature. By the end, his genuineness is exposed, revealing his true heart and sincere love for Jin Kang. This brought even more anguish as the two are unable to be together. The pain of this outcome is one that can never be forgotten. The two fall in love despite the political war that Su Ho is involved in. The story takes place in Seoul in 1987 within a prestigious university. This whole storyline is very intense, which is why the ending of this series made viewers all the more sorrowful. The love story between Su Ho and Young Ro is heartbreakingly epic as there is no way of the two being able to stay together as a result of their backgrounds. The angst and impossibility of this situation creates a longing for viewers to want the two to be happy, which is why the ending left viewers so distressed. There is hope that the two can be together one day. 3. “Vincenzo” Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong Ki) is an Italian lawyer and Mafia consigliere who was adopted and raised in Italy. He returns to Korea to tie up some loose ends pertaining to some gold that is being kept underground in Geumga Plaza. He meets Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Been) and her father Hong Yoo Chan (Yoo Jae Myung), and they are able to form a strong bond with Vincenzo. No one could have anticipated where this story would go. There was hope that the unpredictable story about a mafia consigliere falling in love with a lawyer would have a happy end. The series is entertaining for the most part, and it garnered a lot of satisfied viewers, but the ending had people feeling beyond emotional. At the end scene when Vincenzo returns to Seoul from Italy, he reunites with Cha Young, and the two share an ardent and passionate kiss. From this point, the two separate, leaving their story very open-ended. This obviously affected the viewers who hoped that the two would ride off into the sunset togetheer. 4. “Beyond Evil” Han Joo Won (Yeo Jin Goo) is a police officer who gets transferred to a small town from the big city of Seoul. He is trying to uncover the case of a series of murders that happened 20 years prior. His main suspect is his partner and fellow police officer Lee Dong Sik (Shin Ha Kyun). 5. “What Happened in Bali” Ha Ji Won plays Soo Jung, a poor travel agent who is working in Bali trying to make ends meet. She meets Kang In Wook (So Ji Sub) and Jung Jae Min (Jo In Sung) in Bali, and the three get entangled in a serious love triangle. Probably one of the most shocking endings of all K-dramas, “What Happened in Bali” has an ending that no one could have predicted. The series is a makjang, making it very dramatic and emotional with an intense love triangle at the forefront. The ending involves murder, blood, jealousy, and rage – all components that make for a noteworthy and fiery ending. There is hardly a K-drama that can top this one in terms of ending things off with a bang. Written by Kim Eun Sook, “Lovers In Paris” took Korea by storm at the time it was airing. From its popular main leads to the epic love triangle, the series is a classic. The part that really shook watchers of the series was definitely the final scene, as it was completely unexpected. It’s a bit of a disappointment in terms of how the writer decided to end the story, as there was not that much closure, but it continues to be a classic today with an ending that many have still not gotten over. 6. “Lovers in Paris” The drama stars Gi Ju (Park Shin Yang), a divorcee CEO of a motor company who falls in love with a poor housekeeper named Tae Young (Kim Jung Eun). The series also involves an epic love triangle between Park Shin Yang, Kim Jung Eun, and Lee Dong Gun, who plays Gi Ju’s nephew Yoo Soo Hyuk. • K-Drama Collection With Theme Of Reunited Lovers

One of the most rewarding K-dramas to watch is a K-drama where a couple who couldn’t be together when they were younger, fall in love again later on in their lives. It’s a theme that is hard to watch at first because of the heartbreak that the main couple goes through, but then it is touching to see them still want to be together after time has passed. It gives hope and a different meaning to the word “destined.” Here are eight K-dramas that explore this theme! 1. “When My Love Blooms” It’s love at first sight when Yoon Ji Soo (Jeon So Nee) first meets Han Jae Hyun (GOT7‘s Jinyoung). He rescues her when she gets caught in the middle of an intense protest. From this point on, Ji Soo makes it a point to try and win Jae Hyun’s heart. She’s persistent in her love for him, and he eventually starts to have feelings for her too. After an unfortunate situation, Ji Soo is forced to break up with Jae Hyun, but the two reunite many years later. The adult versions of the two are played by Lee Bo Young and Yoo Ji Tae. “When My Love Blooms” is a sweet first love tale that takes place in a very politically tumultuous time. As a result of this intense period in time, two lovers are forced to break up and go their separate ways. The angst and pain that this period apart brings onto the viewers is so heartbreaking, but makes it so much more heartfelt when the pair reunite as adults. They realize that their feelings for each other never really disappeared, and they can not bear to be separated again even if it means losing everything they have. 2. “Our Blues” “Our Blues” is a series that stars Han Ji Min, Kim Woo Bin, Lee Byung Hun, Shin Min Ah, Cha Seung Won, Lee Jung Eun, Kim Hye Ja, and many others. The series is set in Jeju Island and it shows the various problems and issues that the characters are experiencing. Mi Sun Ah (Shin Min Ah) and Lee Dong Suk (Lee Byung Hun) knew each other since high school. Dong Suk had loved Sun Ah for a long time, but she betrays him. After many years of being separated, Sun Ah returns to her hometown and the two meet again. There has always been a magnetic force drawing the two together, and it’s very evident when they reunite. Dong Suk is very open with his feelings to Sun Ah, showing that nothing has changed for him, and this is one of the most endearing parts about the series. Even after being hurt after all those years, he is still in love with her and unable to let her go. 3. “Angel Eyes” “Angel Eyes” stars Lee Sang Yoon and Goo Hye Sun as first loves who get separated after tragedy strikes. The younger version of these two are played by Kang Ha Neul and Nam Ji Hyun. Years later, they meet again and cannot get over the love that they once felt for each other when they were younger. There was really no stopping Dong Joo (Lee Sang Yoon) from being with Yoon Soo Wan (Goo Hye Sun) again. Their separation as young lovers was against their will, so it was only a matter of time before Dong Joo found his way back to Soo Wan. It is fate that brings him to her, as he randomly sees her as a paramedic on the street. When Dong Joo first lays eyes on her after all that time being apart, he can’t help want to find his way back into her heart. This journey of them reigniting their love and figuring out how to be together despite their tragic pasts is a story you don’t want to miss! 4. “Winter Sonata” This classic K-drama starring Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo is one for everyone to watch, especially if you’re a K-drama fan! It’s a painful love story about two high school students who are very much in love. After an unfortunate accident involving Joon Sang (Bae Yong Joon), the two are forced to separate. “Winter Sonata” has got all the classic tropes needed to make a series entertainingly juicy. It’s even got the main-lead-with-amnesia trope that gets in the way of Joon Sang’s relationship with his first love, Jung Yoo Jin (Choi Ji Woo). As a result of not being able to remember how much he loves her, they can’t be together. As they reunite later in life, the love that Yoo Jin has for Joon Sang helps bring his memories back. The two are able to reignite their feelings for each other, getting a second chance at true love. 5. “Twenty Again” Choi Ji Woo plays Ha No Ra, an aspiring dancer who gets pregnant at the age of 19. She gives up on her dreams and drops out of high school to raise her son. 20 years later, No Ra meets her high school friend Cha Hyun Suk (Lee Sang Yoon). Although they were good friends in high school, it is revealed that he had a small crush on her when they were students. One of the best parts about this series is watching No Ra live out the life she has always wanted without her age being a barrier. She goes back to college, joins a dance club, and even reunites with her first love, Hyun Suk. Seeing No Ra make amends with Hyun Suk while figuring out her feelings for him is so therapeutic and healing. The series provides a lot of warmth and comfort for those who may think it is too late in life to try new things; you’ll also love the adorable chemistry between Lee Sang Yoon and Choi Ji Woo! The circumstances in which Do Jin and Jae Yi break up as high school students are unimaginable. When the father of the man you love murders your family, it can be hard to look at that person again. But it seems that the love Do Jin and Jae Yi have for each other is destiny, given that they are so desperate to be together even after everything they have gone through. Their relationship is a tumultuous one, but it is definitely worth it to see their happily ever after ending. 6. “Come And Hug Me” Chae Do Jin (Nam Da Reum) and Han Jae Yi (Ryu Han Bi) both fall in love with each other in high school. They are each other’s first loves, and there is nothing in the world that Do Jin wouldn’t do for Jae Yi. Unfortunately, Do Jin’s father is crazy and ends up killing Jae Yi’s entire family. He isn’t able to kill Jae Yi, but this tears Do Jin and Jae Yi apart. The two grow up, and the adult characters are played by Jang Ki Yong and Jin Ki Joo. As adults, they find a way into each other’s lives again, but Do Jin’s murderous father is getting out of jail, and he wants to finish the job he started by killing Jae Yi. 7. “Emergency Couple” Oh Jin Hee (Song Ji Hyo) meets Oh Chang Min (Choi Jin Hyuk) in medical school, and despite Chang Min’s family being very against it, the two decide to get married. After a lot of hardships and struggles within the marriage, they decide to get divorced. Jin Hee returns to being a medical student and interns at a hospital where she meets her now ex-husband Chang Min. The two must figure out how to work together while putting aside their differences and emotions. This series is an adorable one. When you have a lovesick and jealous Choi Jin Hyuk following Song Ji Hyo around, begging her to take him back, you really can’t help but smile. The love that Chang Min shows to Jin Hee, and just how much he is willing to make their relationship work, is so touching and heartfelt to see. It’s also rare to see a storyline in which a divorced couple find it in their hearts to love each other again. It’s a couple and love story thoroughly worth watching!
