Review By Mr KD Sneak Peek: My Beautiful Bride

Anyeong, chingudeul!

What drama do you want to start the weekend with? I have a review of a drama that just aired on June 20 2015, the title is My Beautiful Bride .

This drama is very romantic, lots of tension and fighting. Not bad for those who don't really like Korean dramas with a high level of romance.

Korean drama viewers are probably already familiar with loan shark characters, right? Many Korean dramas include loan sharks in their stories, right? Usually it's just about the main character being chased by debt collectors, but not too detailed about what and how is behind the loan shark mafia.

Well, My Beautiful Bride actually makes loan sharks the focus of the story. So, in Korea, this loan shark 'business' is very popular because they can provide loans without many conditions, unlike banks. But the problem is, what if the debt cannot be paid off?

The borrower will be kidnapped by debt collectors to be sold as a prostitute, or have both their legs cut off and become a beggar, or become a laborer with inhumane working hours. But in the end it's still the same: their organs will be taken to be sold (oh scary....)

And behind the loan sharks, there is someone called Shadow. They are the ones who provide the money to be loaned, and also the ones behind the trafficking and organ sales business.

Cha Yoon Mi (played by Lee Si Young) is a detective who is very determined to catch Shadow. For two years she worked hard until she finally found someone in the organization who was willing to be an informant. From this informant, they learned that the Shadow was named Song Hak Soo (played by Lee Jae Yong).
